A REPLICA Olympic torch is continuing its journey around local schools after being handed from Rowsley C of E Primary to Bakewell C of E Infants on Friday 28th October.
Rowsley pupils walked the three miles to hand over the torch, which followed a week of Olympic-themed activities including athletics, healthy cooking, and seeing Lord Coe at the opening of the Arc Leisure Centre.
The torch will visit each primary school in the catchment of Lady Manners School, who came up with the idea for the project and then built the torch after a design competition.
Rowsley pupils Max Verdicchio and Eve Birds were part of the team that came up with the winning design.
